Year 6 Pupils visit Stowe for the Winton Cup

May, 2026 | News

On Thursday, eight Year 6 pupils travelled to Stowe School to take part in the Winton Cup, a humanities competition that brings together prep schools from across the region.

The competition is named after the renowned former Stowe pupil Nicholas Winton, who played a significant role in the Kindertransport. The Winton Cup challenges pupils across a range of humanities disciplines, encouraging collaboration, critical thinking and creativity.

Our pupils worked in teams throughout the day, taking part in a variety of activities alongside other schools. Although we they were unable to repeat last year’s victory, the team approached every challenge with enthusiasm and determination.

The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and were a credit to the school, demonstrating excellent behaviour, teamwork and a willingness for all pupils to contribute fully to their group activities. The visit provided a valuable opportunity to apply classroom learning in a competitive and collaborative setting, while also learning more about an important historical legacy.

Well done to all the pupils involved!
