It was Roman Day with a difference this year! Following a very interesting presentation from our visiting speaker on the Roman Army and everyday life as a Roman soldier, Year 4 spent the day making various models of Roman artefacts. Using whatever was available at home, the children made sandals, helmets, catapults and designed their own Roman villa. Whilst some made Roman sweets, stuffing dates with almonds and covering them in honey, other pupils made flavoured olive oil with rosemary from their garden. It was super to see such industry and enthusiasm, and a very welcome break from the Zoom screen. Well done Year 4 – you made Roman Day a complete success.
