Year 3 have enjoyed a wonderful Activity Week both in and out of school. In school, the children have taken part in a range of activities which included making rubbings of fossils, making their own Plaster of Paris fossils, baking flatbreads and folding origami. We have also been on two trips out of school. On Monday, we visited Wandlebury Country Park for a day of bushcraft and team building activities. The children took part in den building, whittling and lighting fires. A real highlight of the day was toasting marshmallows over their newly built fires to make s’mores! On Wednesday, we visited The Centre for Computing History in support of our History topic ‘Britain Since WWII’ to learn more about the development of computers. The children also sent messages in morse code and used a BBC B microcomputer from the 1980s to do some coding. As well as all of this, Mr Barraclough even stopped playing the retro games consoles long enough to let the children have a turn!
