Year 1 had an unforgettable day at Hedingham Castle! With exclusive access to this magnificent historical site, our young explorers were guided by a wonderfully inspiring historian. Dressed as medieval knights in helmets, chain mail, and breastplates, the children were thrilled to learn about the castle’s rich battle history.
One of the highlights was the spiral stone staircase, which led us to breathtaking views of the Essex countryside-a rewarding climb! In the Grand Banqueting Hall, the children embraced their imaginations, stepping into various medieval roles as they engaged with the history they’ve been exploring in class.
With the afternoon sun shining, they sketched their surroundings, while listening to enchanting medieval music. The day was filled with animated questions, curiosity by all, and exemplary behaviour, making it a truly special experience. We’re so proud of our Year 1 pupils for their enthusiasm and creativity!
