Year 2 Tea Trail

May, 2026 | News

Year 2 had a wonderful time on their Tea Trail Topic Trip to the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology as part of their Amazing Asia topic. On their way, they passed the famous Fitzbillies — plenty of tea in sight, but sadly not enough time to stop for a Chelsea bun this time!

This exciting new addition to the calendar was an enormous success and thoroughly enjoyed by the children. At King’s, we are incredibly fortunate to have such inspiring places to learn on our doorstep, with the museum just a short walk from our school.

The children were fascinated to discover that Britain drinks an astonishing 100 million cups of tea every day, whilst learning where tea comes from and how it spread across the world.

The children searched for key artefacts, guided by a beaming Museum Educator who was delighted to welcome our sea of purple — especially as her own children attended King’s some years ago!

Throughout the visit, the children located tea-growing regions on maps, sketched their own teacups, and immersed themselves in the fascinating collections around the museum. They were an absolute credit to the school, demonstrating thoughtful, high-level questioning and a genuine enthusiasm for learning.

A huge thank you to the wonderful team at the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology for such a warm welcome and inspiring experience.
