Let’s Get Growing! Year 1 shared a day together at the Botanic Gardens on Friday. We consolidated our knowledge and continued to learn some new facts about many rare and endangered plants. We spent the morning touring various different areas in small groups, finding hidden pathways and measuring large tree trunks. We had time to explore the hot houses with plants from every continent and found some time to sketch our favourites. In the afternoon there was plenty of wildlife spotting, from water snakes to dragon flies hidden in the cool waters. The children loved the different cactus inside the desert glasshouse as well as the more tropical environments where they could see rice paddy fields and banana plants!
