The day after the 3rd book in the Skandar series was published, Annabel Steadman came to King’s talk to pupils in Year 4 to 6 about her Skandar series. With three books so far, two more to come and a film in the making, she had the children enthused from the start. She began by telling us a little about herself by giving the children options that they had to vote on, causing much hilarity, then she told us about her writing of Skandar, how she got her ideas and inspiration. An interactive exercise followed where she asked the children to create their own Unicorn, which she said might feature in her next book, thus creating huge excitement!
Annabel finished off by signing over £1,000 of books that the children had bought previously or that the school arranged for them to have.
We were delighted that Year 5 and 6 from Park Street Primary School were able to join us for this event and receive a set of signed books for their Library from the Head, with each of the children being given a book mark. A hugely successful event!

We usually offer tours on Tuesday and Friday mornings during term time. On arrival, parents meet with the Head, before touring the school, with a particular emphasis on the areas of most importance to their child.
