Outstanding Results in National Time to Write Competition

Mar, 2026 | News

Pupils from King’s College School have achieved exceptional success in the prestigious national Time to Write competition, an annual creative writing contest organised jointly by the Independent Schools Examinations Board (ISEB) and the Independent Association of Preparatory Schools (IAPS).

This year’s theme, “Thread,” inspired a wide range of original and thoughtful prose from young writers nationwide. Among the substantial number of entries submitted by pupils in Year 7 and above, Lily E was awarded runner-up in the national Year 7–9 category. As part of her prize, Lily’s story will be developed into an illustrated concept page by students from the Arts University Bournemouth, providing a professional visual interpretation of her work.

In addition to Lily’s achievement, Emily B, Ameka K, and Ronan S each received Highly Commended recognition for their entries. Their success reflects the high standard of creativity and literary skill nurtured here at King’s.

Many congratulations to everyone involved!
