Maths Challenge Success

Jun, 2026 | News

We are delighted to celebrate the continued success of mathematicians at King’s, who have performed exceptionally well in recent national competitions.

Seven of our Year 8 pupils took part in the highly challenging Intermediate Maths Challenge, an event typically aimed at Year 11 students. All seven pupils qualified for the bonus round—an outstanding achievement that reflects both their dedication and ability. Among them, Charles T was awarded a Bronze certificate, Louie C and Tianchen G each received Silver certificates, and Imogen R achieved a Gold certificate.

We are especially proud that these four pupils have now qualified to represent the school in the National Finals of the Team Maths Challenge. We wish them every success as they prepare for this prestigious event.

The Junior Maths Challenge also saw excellent participation across the school. A large number of pupils embraced the opportunity to challenge themselves, including many from Year 6, alongside strong representation from Years 7 and 8, and even three pupils from Year 5.

The results were impressive:

  • 18 pupils achieved Bronze certificates
  • 37 pupils achieved Silver certificates
  • 25 pupils were awarded Gold certificates

Of the Gold award winners, 19 pupils qualified for the bonus Grey Kangaroo round, while three pupils progressed to the Maths Olympiad.

A special mention must go to two of our Year 5 pupils, Jack M and Cyrus D, who both achieved Gold certificates and qualified for bonus round papers—an exceptional accomplishment at their stage.

We congratulate all pupils who took part and wish the very best of luck to those preparing for the upcoming rounds. Their enthusiasm, perseverance and success continue to make us incredibly proud.
