En Guard! Fencing @ King’s
On Saturday morning 27th November, King’s ran a fencing taster session coached by Commonwealth Games Medal winner, Sarah Paveley.
Pupils were taught the basic stance, movement, and etiquette of fencing as well as knowing when to attack and defend. Then, with foil in hand and mask on face, pupils engaged in several bouts to try and emerge victoriously.
All pupils had a wonderful time, and Sarah was incredibly impressed by the quality of fencing despite being beginners! Given that the event was hugely popular and over subscribed, we will be looking to run another taster session in the Lent Term.
