Twelve boys proudly represented King’s at the Cricket County Cup Festival, competing against five other schools. The tournament’s format—where batsmen retired at 20 runs and every player bowled one over per game—meant that team performance was key, with no single player able to dominate proceedings.
King’s began the day with a tense opening match against King’s Ely, edging a narrow win. This was followed by a more assured victory over Kimbolton. The third game saw King’s take on a strong Perse side. After being asked to bat first, they posted a modest total of 69. However, showing remarkable determination and never-say-die attitude, King’s pulled off an outstanding comeback to bowl out The Perse for just 55.
Momentum continued to build with a convincing win over St Faith’s, and the day was capped off with a clinical display against St John’s to seal a perfect record—five wins from five games.
The team performed with commitment, skill, and professionalism throughout the day, excelling with bat, ball, and in the field. A superb effort from all involved!
