Year 1 travelled back in time to Hedingham Castle, where they met a host of medieval castle characters. The children heard from the lady of the castle and helped servants lay the table for a banquet. They also met an old soldier with his battle weapons, an armourer who helped us reenact an attack on the castle, an archer and an apothecary with all her traditional remedies for headaches and colds. Undoubtedly the highlights of the day were dancing while the minstrels played music on traditional instruments and having a go at jousting!
