Choristers and Probationers
King's has an excellent reputation for Music but this does not mean that every child who comes to King's has to be a musical genius! The choristers have the chance to become part of the long tradition of King's College Chapel, singing music to the highest standards. They also have the opportunity to give concerts and to record with highly renowned singers and orchestras. Each year exciting foreign trips offer unparalleled cultural and educational opportunities.
There are 17 choristers and 10 probationers (trainee choristers) out of a school of more than 420 children.
The Director of Music, Daniel Hyde, is always pleased to hear of prospective Choristers. If your son is aged six or seven and enjoys singing then feel free to contact Mr Hyde by telephone on 01223 331224 or by email at email@example.com.
All our children receive the same high levels of encouragement, tuition and teacher time. During the teaching day there is absolutely no difference between choristers and non- choristers.
