All of the Year 8 pupils headed off to Silverstone to experience Formula One in the real world, not just in the classroom. The pupils were even given the opportunity to sit in a Formula One car and to drive around the national track, in a simulator, with varying degrees of success and failure!
In the lecture room, the pupils were able to experience parts of cars and safety equipment during their talk on Formula One. The talk included career opportunities and logistics within the Formula One teams and within the industry as a whole. The pupils have returned with inspired ideas and a greater insight into the world of Formula One, and we are confident that this will be translated into their Formula One in schools project that we shall be running in Design Technology over the coming weeks.
