The Year 5 pupils went on a Humanities trip to the Botanical Gardens and the Museum of Archeology & Anthropology on Tuesday. Whilst at the gardens, the children learnt about the origins of chocolate and its production in the tropical regions of the world, followed by a tour of the tropical glass houses to discover how plants have adapted to living in the tropical rainforest.

The rest of the day was spent discovering Mayan artefacts at the museum, linking perfectly to the History topic studied during the course of the term. I think the highlight for many of the children was sampling different types of chocolate!
