Last week we welcomed 6001 visitors to Year 1! Our Master Beekeeper brought an observation hive into the classroom for the day and were able to watch the queen bee laying eggs and the worker bees busily feeding the brood. The children prepared amazing questions and loved hearing all the incredible bee facts: we all learnt lots about the life of bees. We had a turn dressing up in a bee suit and building a hive, learning about wax products, making our own candles and, of course, tasting honey! We compared 4 different types to see which was our favourite. The children wished the beekeeper could come again the next day!
