The choristers had a very busy Christmas this year! Directly after the end of term, they departed for Mönchengladbach in Germany for a sold-out concert at the Pfarrkirche St. Marien. Following this, they crossed the border into The Netherlands, bound for Amsterdam.

After a morning full of culture and art in the Rijksmuseum, they prepared themselves for the second and final concert of the tour at The Concertgebouw. The setting was fantastic and the music even more impressive, and the boys excelled themselves to not one, not two, but three standing ovations!

The fun didn’t stop there, however. Two days after returning to Cambridge, the Choir departed for London, bound for The Barbican, where they put on yet another wonderful concert with the Philharmonia Orchestra and the Crouch End Festival Chorus.

They returned to Cambridge on 22 December for the build-up to the live BBC Radio 4 broadcast of A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols on Christmas Eve, and what a festival it was! The boys worked very hard indeed to put on a world-class and moving service for an audience of millions.

A busy and rewarding Christmas period; followed by plenty of time at home with their families!
