As the Lent Term ended, and everyone welcomed in the Easter holidays, the King’s Ski Trip departed early on Saturday 23 March. Thirty-eight pupils set off to a new resort for this year – Pinzolo, Italy. The resort was absolutely stunning, and the hotel just as charming, with delicious breakfasts and dinners all week for the children and staff, and fun activities planned every evening. We only managed one day of skiing on the resort of Pinzolo, as the resort closed due to lack of snow. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as every morning from Monday to Friday, we took a short coach trip to a much higher resort, Madonna di Campliglio. The snow was excellent at the greater heights, with a wide range of slopes to challenge beginners and expert skiers.
All of the teachers on the trip were absolutely astonished at the progress the children made through the week. Pupils who were raw beginners on the first day, were able to tackle red runs by the last day. The instructors, representatives from the Ski Company, and the staff at the hotel all highly commended the children’s manners and their attitude towards every part of the trip (apparently, they had NEVER had so many children join in with the karaoke with such vigour!)
Thanks must go to all of the members of staff for their support.
