On Tuesday 3 October 2023, our Reception Forms had their first visit to King’s College Chapel – a true moment of magic.
The Chapel is an important place for us all and the very first visit as a King’s pupil is a moment that will remain with them forever.
The children were shown the exquisite, stained-glass windows and enjoyed laying down when asked to explore the intricate fan-vaulted ceilings. Together, they stood proudly in front of Rubens’ painting, for their Reception photo – a photo which they will re-enact in 2032 when they pose for their Year 8 leavers’ photo on their final day at King’s!
As our Chaplain, The Reverend Dr Mary Kells, said to the children, ‘You are always welcome in this Chapel – this is your Chapel.’
