Over the Summer Holidays the builders, maintenance team and other staff were busy creating a beautiful new outdoor play space for the Pre-Prep children to use.
The new playground includes state-of-the-art new wooden play equipment, with a rope bridge, balance beams, and a clamber stack. In keeping with this, we have a wonderful set of low-level benches for sitting or climbing, to encourage both balancing and co-ordination. Surrounding the play equipment there is now a cycle track for the children to enjoy on the school trikes and scooters. Many families will be pleased to hear that the ground has been transformed with an all-weather wet pour surface and the flowers in the planters have already started to bloom in King’s colours!
Around the corner, there is an area of artificial grass for the children to use year-round, which we plan to develop further by adding wooden staging. The parents’ waiting area at drop off and pick up time has been re-surfaced with tiger mulch, to create a woodland walk area.
We were delighted that the newly refurbished Pre-Prep playground was opened by Mrs Day (Head and Master over the Choristers) this morning. Our thanks go to the maintenance staff, Mrs Purser (the Bursar) and Mrs Day for their support with this project.
We would also like to extend our thanks to the PTA for their contribution to the project.
