On Sunday 30 March a group of 47 excited pupils and 6 equally excited staff met the in Assembly Hall to begin the 2025 KCSC Ski Trip. What we didn’t know at that time was just quite how successful the trip would turn out to be. We were returning to Sauze d’Oulx in Italy – our venue for the 2024 Ski Trip – although this time to a different hotel.
Everything about the trip was perfect! The hotel was superb and suited our needs perfectly – the children especially enjoyed the buffet meals, which meant that no-one went hungry!
The weather simply could not have been better either – conditions were typically spring-like on the first two days, with chilly mornings, followed by warm afternoons. However, the middle of the week held a real treat – a huge fall of snow meant that everyone could experience the thrill of skiing on freshly fallen, deep snow. On Thursday, the sun returned which, combined with the beautifully groomed fresh snow, meant that the children experienced the best conditions that they could possibly have hoped for.
However, the most perfect thing about the trip was the children. They were an absolute pleasure to be with – they were consistently thoughtful, supportive and polite. We drew many approving comments from hotel staff and members of the public alike. What a credit they were to our school!
Huge thanks must also go to the members of staff who gave up a week of their holiday so that the children could have such a wonderful experience.
