Year 5 Orienteering Skills

Jan, 2022 | News

READY, SET, GO!

Year 5 have been braving chilly temperatures and enjoying their “orienteering unit” in PE over the past 2 weeks. The children have been using their map reading skills to complete orienteering tasks around the school grounds, working in teams to problem solve and beat the clock!

Using maps, compasses and stop watches, pupils have had to decipher codes, clues, distances and work within timings to complete the various challenges. All these skills will soon be put into practice on a larger scale when they participate in the orienteering morning at Coe-Fen organised by Caroline Louth in May.

Great team work Year 5!
