The online world is always changing and some parents feel confused by the internet; also the role of technology in the family is constantly growing and changing. The one constant is that children adapt to changes and we, as carers, need to keep pace with changes so that we can guide them along the way.

There are a number of sites online that give useful and straight forward information and advice to help you to be a great parent online, allowing the internet to be a safe place for everyone in the family.

Vodafone’s Digital Parenting site ‘sets out to dispel the myths, explain the jargon and provide tips for parents and guardians on how to help kids and teenagers get the most out of the web while staying safe.’

The NSPCC site will guide you through information which will help you to ‘find out how you can keep children safe from abuse and other dangers, both online and in the physical world.’

CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre) has a wealth of information on their site, helping children and adults to ‘Have Fun and Stay Safe.’
