Thanks to the funding from the PTA, the Library Internet and Network access has been updated with the installation of 'Thin Clients'.
These six machines don't have any hard drive of moving parts. A remote server has been configured so these 'slim machines' can 'talk' freely to and fro, passing data without storing anything locally. The lack of parts means that these machines are around 90% more energy efficient than your traditional desktop. The lack of parts means these machine take up minimal space ( they actually fit on the back of the screen) and are easier to maintain.
The set up of this has been a real success and during the Summer holidays the funding will cover the purchase and set up costs for up to 6 'Thin client laptops' which will work in the same fashion but wirelessly throughout the school.
Sounds of the caribbean are on their Way.Thanks to the PTA
