Music plays a major part in the life of the school. There is a full-time Director of Music and two assistants and the department attracts a very high calibre of instrumental teacher. There are thirty peripatetic teachers who visit the school each week. The Senior Orchestra consists of around 90 children and there are about 80 children in the Junior Orchestra. There are also numerous vocal and instrumental ensembles, quartets, trios and groups and there are many school concerts. Some of the concerts are performed in the splendid University Concert Hall opposite the school in West Road. Pupils are prepared for Music exams and the school has a fine record of Music scholarships to senior independent schools, both by choristers and other pupils. Design, Technology, ICT & Art |
