Composition at King's College School
All pupils at King's have a chance to try their hand at composition within class music lessons, and a number of pupils compose regularly in their free time. The school runs junior and senior composition clubs, and has 20 copies of Sibelius 4 networked on the school server. Many of the choristers enjoy writing music suitable for performance in chapel (settings of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis are particularly popular!), as well as chamber music and even works for full orchestra. Recently pupils have been successful in several national competitions, and one has gained a place to study composition at the Junior Royal Academy of Music.
