  • To engender a team spirit through physical dramatic / musical activity.

Programme of study

  • To build a working knowledge of different shows, aiming at one each half-term.
  • To rehearse and perform musical numbers, from a variety of shows, including choreographed dance routines.

Year 8 Drama Scheme of Work

Aims:
  • to develop self-confidence through performance
  • to experience the enjoyment in working as part of a team towards a performance.
Programme of study:
In Year 8 we have one term of Drama, the summer term, where we work towards an end of term public performance, usually light-hearted in content, involving all the children, with an emphasis on including those who have not been actively involved in previous school productions. This is entirely voluntary and involves a heavy commitment to after school rehearsals. We alternate between a musical and a play. Those not actively involved on stage are encouraged to participate by helping backstage and with lighting. Up to 80 children can be part of each show.
