Mathematics
 Mathematics is a core subject which is taught daily. In all classes the work is differentiated according to ability. The children are taught in small groups and the lessons are planned to be varied, stimulating and rewarding. As well as teaching numeracy and developing mental strategies, the children explore shape, fractions, handling data and measurement of capacity, mass, money and time. Some of these aspects of maths are taught in a cross-curricular way, linking to other subjects where appropriate. If ICT will enhance their mathematical learning then it is used either in the classroom or in the junior ICT lab and a wide variety of programs are available at Kings. We want our children to be confident, enthusiastic mathematicians. Our programme of work in the pre-prep represents our dedication to this aim.
