Mothering Sunday for KCS Equestrian Team
6 riders were up very early and headed off to Poplar Park nr Woodbridge for the Interschool One Day Event.
Lily Harrison on Steel was in the first "Eventer Trial" Class which consisted of Showjumping and then straight on to the long Xcountry Course. A superb clear in both rounds, with what looked like a very fast xcountry round - but unfortunately time faults were incurred as the optimum time was very quick.
The next class saw the KCS team of Clara Haggie, Eliza Orme, Gemma Harrison & Zara Paltridge and Lottie Sandison as an Individual compete in 3 disciplines - Dressage, Showjumping & Xcountry. All 5 did lovely dressage tests, and Zara did extremely well to come 3rd out of the 150 riders after a great test. The team were thrilled to all go clear in the showjumping and both Zara & Eliza did well to get the double with clear Xcountry rounds.
Again the optimum time was set for much bigger horses so extremely fast, our girls sensibly took a safer speed so some time faults were incurred. Zara ended up 12th out of 150 individually, and the team came 12th out of 29 (several teams were eliminated!). Both Clara and Eliza were on new ponies so they need to be doubly congratulated for doing so well.
A big thank you to the extra supporters and for mum's for giving up their "Breakfast in Bed Sunday".
