Year 2 Mad Science Workshop on
the Solar System
'Magnetic Mike came to us to teach us about rockets. We made our own rockets out of paper and blasted off our rockets! After playtime we learnt about the Solar System. We learnt that Pluto is a dwarf planet. Then we did a soapy solar system made out of bubbles.'
By Margot and Florence ( 2FJ)
On Thursday 13th October Year 2 were treated to a Mad Science Workshop on the Solar System. The children learned amazing facts about the planets and even blew up some planet ‘bubbles’. They were totally engrossed with Crystal Claire’s interesting information about rockets and astronauts. The excitement grew when the children were told that they were going to make their very own rocket and launch it. After completing their model rockets, they all made their way onto Front Pitch and waited with great anticipation for the first rocket to be launched. They all counted down 3..2..1 for each launch and the children were amazed at how high the rockets went up. It was truly an exhilarating and fun morning!
