Children with co-ordination difficulties (dyspraxia) experience weaknesses in their perceptuo-motor skills. They often have poor handwriting and may be generally untidy and disorganised. Dyspraxics may find it hard to understand or follow rules in the classroom and in the playground. They may have difficulty understanding and following maps or diagrams and other spatial tasks such as laying out and presenting their work well. Dyspraxics often have difficulties in sequencing their ideas when writing stories or essays. Motor activites such as catching a ball or balancing may develop at a slower rate. within the centre we can offer motor skills classes as well as help with handwriting, typing and strategies for coping with a busy curriculum.
